Where Have You Been All My Life?

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

OK, I guess I've been living in a bubble until now. A friend let me pirate loaned me a copy of John Prine; Great Days Anthology.

Not only had I never heard a single song of his, I admit to having never even heard of John Prine. It seems he's a pretty big deal though. I mean, he has an anthology and everything.

If you get a chance check his stuff out. It's nostalgic and easy to listen to.

I'm Pete Dunn and I approved this message.

I got a few songs from his latest album via iTunes, and listening to the song "Some Humans Ain't Human" is reminiscent of protest-folk from days gone by.

His voice has changed, though, since his older stuff... I believe he had surgery on his throat, and since then he has to sing differently. But I really like the throaty nature of his voice now.

Isn't he the guy who does a

Isn't he the guy who does a song about a happy enchilada?

Hmm...

Maybe. If so, I haven't heard it... yet.
