Tonight is the annual company Christmas party. There will be an open bar which, due to marital circumstances, I will not be taking advantage of. I'm hoping an anonymous co-worker may take pity on me and "accidentally" spike my Diet Coke... several times...

Here's to hoping.

I figured I needed to start showing some love since I've been lurking here for months.

I just went through the same shit last week with my company party. Drunken Karaoke, 50+ boozed up coworkers, and me and my sober wife. I could hardly contain myself.

Thank Gwad there was no karaoke at this particular get-together. There was plenty of alcohol though. Everyone seemed to enjoy it in moderation and not a single fist fight broke out. It was almost as if it were a perfectly normal thing to do at a party.

That is sad. I've had plenty of experience with watching others drink while I sip my coke and wish I were that uninhibited. I'm not sure if I'll ever be any other way, after all this time.

    My nephew is a pretty cool kid. That is, when he isn't throwing a tantrum or breaking something. Like his head. This is a very rare picture of him without a visible bruise, bandage or goose egg.

    Like the Mona Lisa, there's a mystery behind his smile. To me, it's obvious why he's smiling. A smirk like that tells me he probably just set something on fire.
