"What are you doing?"

"Looking for something to make myself for dinner."

"Is there something wrong with the dinner I made?"

"Nothing at all. It just isn't what I'm in the mood for so I'm looking for something else."

"I love when I work hard to have dinner ready and you turn your nose up at it."

Let me not keep you in suspense by drawing this out. The story ends with me eating room temperature green-bean casserole and spending the rest of the evening in silence.

What I should have done was just eaten the damn green beans in the first place. Sure... I know that NOW.

Nasty, nasty, nasty! I'm not a casserole fan, either. Well, unless it Tater Tot casserole.

Still...

Still... I should have just eaten it then fixed myself something more later. Live and learn.

Tater Tot Casserole??

Hey...someone better cough up (pun intended) that tater tot recipe!! It sounds delicious!

TaterTot Casserole

I have a super easy recipe.

1 lb. ground beef - browned
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups cheese - any flavor
1 can green beans -drained (optional)
1 bag tater tots

Combine ground beef & cream of mushroom soup and spread in 9x13 pan (add seasonings to taste).
spread 1 cup of cheese on top of mixture. Add green beans if desired. Spread tater tots on top of green beans (I put them in rows but you can do them anyway you want as long as they are in a single layer)and top with remaining cheese.

Follow directions on tater tot bag to find temperature and cooking time. Make sure that beef/soup mixture is still warm before you cook it or it will take longer than the cooking time on the bag.

Now I am Hungry

Who knew we'd get a recipe out of this post! So ya, what can you do? Sometimes you want something new for dinner. I mean...every night getting the same old recipe in the same position...(at the table?). It makes one want to dine in a fine restaurant once in a while, is that so wrong? Sometimes you just want to whip up a new kind of cream or taste a different salt and vinegar than usual. At least you have someone making dinner for you occassionally, instead of just hitting the drive through at the same chicken jerk joint every night.

Hungry?

If you want really fresh chicken sometimes you have to choke it yourself.

Women are Tough

Women are tough, right?? :) Perhaps she should have what I call an FFY (fend for yourself) night instead of making casseroles.

EFY night?

Is that where all the young women get up and cry while testifying about Joseph Smith and polygamy and seminary and stuff?

I'm doing it all wrong...

I always ask before cooking..."Which of these choices would you like?" And then if the nose is turned up at each one, then I let him cook something for himself (or offer to run and get something from fast food).

I got my feelings hurt one time by cooking something the hubby didn't like, and he made something else. So now I always ASK. Maybe you could train her?

Does the Mormon church own

Does the Mormon church own Campbells Soup? I think it's a bit weird that most Momo recipes call for a can of cream of wahtever soup.

You'll eat what's served or else! You should know better by now. What were you thinking? That's a mistake you should have made and learned from in the first year of your marriage! I'm happy if my wife makes anything.

Beer

I swear I posted a comment on this about passive aggressive behavior. I guess it was just the beer. Beer goes well with green-bean casserole, by the way.

i refuse any food that contains cream of shit soup as an ingredient. cold cereal is my survival food for a mormon household. 31 years and counting!
