"Mom, Dad, I just started my period," Megan said as casually as if she were announcing the completion of a piece of toast. She was seemingly unaware of the fact that the sun was not yet up and our eyes were not yet open.
"You what?" Donna said groggily.
"My period, it came this morning. I thought you'd like to know."
As quickly as she had arrived, she left.
"This," I thought silently, "is the beginning of the end."
Confirming my fears Donna informed me, "I guess we're on the same cycle. Mine started today too."
This should be fun. Fun like a feces and sebum sandwich.

Had this happen when the kid turned ELEVEN. Threw my cycle off, too.
Please tell me you have more than one bathroom in your house. (I don't at the moment, and it is sheer HELL during those five days a month - I truly think my husband resorts to outdoor peeing.)

Men have their own cycles - twice a month. The asshole to Neanderthal spectrum, though it's really hard to pin down exactly where the cycle begins or ends. Doesn't seem to affect hormones, which are a constant.

I can't imagine. I am freaking out that my son went to his first maturation class and I am only just beginning to steel myself for furious sheet changing in the next year or so.
