This lovely number perfectly compliments a pair of ratty jeans or oil-soaked coveralls.

It's also the perfect shirt for watching NASCAR or wrestling... or really, anytime you feel like drinking beer.

Compound Animals

Friday, October 26, 2007

I read a news report about how an ark-load of animals had been rescued from wildfires burning in and around San Diego this week. The Del Mar Fairgrounds are temporary home to about 2500 horses, goats, zebras, and llamas. Also in the group are a fairly large number of a horse/zebra mix called a 'zorse'. A zorse? Is that for real?

I can only think these things were bred for circuses. It's not like there was a group of farmers sitting around bitching about the deficiencies of a horse wishing beyond hope that if only a horse were more like the trusty zebra. Then. Then we'd have something.

No. You know a bunch of carnies got loaded up on absinthe and lighter fluid in a box car when one had the bright idea, "Hey! Let's see if this horse will hump the zebra!"

It's bad enough these poor bastard spawns of Dr. Moriarti had to be rescued but it's even worse that we couldn't come up with a less-stupid name.

What's next? Turkens? Herbiles? Weadgers?

Zorse??? Really??? Now I have heard everything.

Dummies

Hebra would have been a better, more Kosher name.

Here's what's next:

What's next? Zompires & Vambies!
Yes. I was watching an old Vincent
Price movie last night, and they
had their vampires all mixed up
with zombies. It was unnatural...
much more so that a Zorse. And by
the way, how come ya didn't provide
up with a picture of a Zorse?? You
KNOW we want to see one!

  • I've said it before. I'll say it again. I wish this was my dog.

Or is it wish it were? I always get mixed up on the subjunctive case.
