I use Drupal as the engine for this site.
The iBlog photos are sent from my iPhone to an email address that Drupal checks using a module called Mailhandler.
Daily Photos are uploaded as hi-res photos into content type of their own with rules and publishing options set to show them in the side bar.
Photos attached to individual posts are attached to the post itself and displayed using the Inline module.
Every photo is resized on the fly using rules set up in the Imagecache module.
The snarky titles come from my brain.

Your kids look totally pissed off to be going back to school, dude. The look totally says, "Damn, a foot and a half of snow on the ground and I have to wait for a bus."

I'm curious to know what you're using to upload pictures you take to your site. I really want to be able to take pictures from my cell and *poof* they appear on my blog. Is that possible?
